September/October Newsletter
What a great response we had to our first Newsletter. The feedback has been positive and encouraging! As we said last month, we aim to produce an informative newsletter, keep you up-to-date with what is happening, new classes, special occasions etc. Suggestions, contributions and of course if you have any specific ideas you would like to suggest we would love to hear from you. Centre Stage with Fabio & Ana 7th Tango Dance World Championship I think we sometimes forget, or assume because Fabio & Ana are professionals and beautiful dancers that they just step onto the stage and dance. Well guess what? Not True! They still have to dedicate many hours to creating, fine tuning and of course rehearsing their choreography. Drama’s aplenty when Fabio & Ana arrived in Buenos Aires …. Minus their luggage with all costumes, shoes, makeup … the lot !!! Three days went by and finally, relief their luggage was found. Fabio & Ana are extremely proud and honoured to have represented not only our country, they are also proud to have representing us; the Tango community, and are happy to announce their top 10 finish in the 7th Tango Dance World Championship . Welcome Back Ana & Fabio !!! REMINDER ….. DON’T MISS OUT ON THESE SPECIAL EVENTS Friday 25th September - a special Milonga to welcome Fabio & Ana back from the World Championship (10pm till late after classes) Robles Social Club Salsa at the National Gallery, and Tango’s Violin in both Perth and Healesville were of course popular, well attended and everyone who went along had a fabulous time. OCTOBER EVENTS Shaheen is one of our Friday night students and has been preparing & putting the hard yards in to be ready for a very special performance and evening. IVA BAILAR is an event incorporating music, dance and food highlighting Latin culture. The 'fiesta' will include a Latin dance performance of: Capoeira, Tango, Salsa and maybe Rueda plus a Cuban band/DJ to end the night. There will also be a small presentation detailing the cultural context of the dances performed and the Latin foods served. It’s a night of dance, music and culture, to experience the joy of dance and the beauty of Latin culture. Tickets: $20, light tapas served, drinks available from the bar. Did you know Fabio was in a movie alongside a major Hollywood Star a couple of years ago? Do you know which movie, who the Hollywood Star is and what role did Fabio play? You do? Creative Movement in Tango, with Sharon Thursday’s at 8pm Haven’t been yet? Connect with yourself, your partner (no matter who you are dancing with), the music and the floor. It’s a fun class loaded with innovative ways to help us improve, compliment and add to our dancing. Not sure about it? Come along and check it out …. What have you got to lose? Class benefits all levels, as the more experienced Dancer you are, the more advanced movements you will be able to create. Special Packages: Introduction to Partner Dancing Sundays at Robles Dance from 2pm until 6.00pm. ( except for the second Sunday of every month when the Czech House Milonga is held) Robles Dance Practica is a great way to practice and fine tune your dancing skills in a relaxed environment. Perhaps you are looking for someone of a similar level to practice with and don’t know anyone well enough yet, or you are shy to ask? Next time you are at class, please let us know if you would like to start coming to Practica and if you are looking for someone to practice with and we will do our very best to match you (personality & skill level).
